A simple handmade birthday gift:

The first time I came home to visit after going away to college, my sister Lara and I stayed up super late catching up on the events of our lives and listening to all the new music I had been introduced to by my new college buddies. Being from small town with no local music scene or interest in good music at all, my sister and I hadn't heard a lot of the great stuff being played out there. Belle and Sebastian was the most exotic band we had really ever listened to. After that night it became a tradition for me to find out about new indie music and burn cd's with some of the best and worst of it for Lara.

So, naturally when my sweet little sister turned 23 this month I had to send her a care package of new music to enjoy. The title of each disc is inspired by a penguin book whose cover art I found particularly pleasant. 3 mixes. 3 themes. Infinite love.

Pretty Paper

This morning I discovered Thoughtful Day's custom invitations and I am blown away. This is the kind of work we'd love to be doing. Creating invites that speak to the nature of the event or the people honored by it. The hand made details are so beautiful and I love the variety of colors and styles. Keep an eye on what these guys are up to! This work inspires me.

Schoolhouse Insurance :: Letterpress Business Cards

The folks at Schoolhouse Insurance & Financial Services recently came to us for help designing their logo and business cards. We had the opportunity to help them develop their brand since the owner was starting the business from scratch. She wanted something sleek and minimal, that was professional but different from what other insurance companies were doing.
This is what we came up with!

We had the cards printed at Faulkenberg Printing Company. The guys over there are so good at what they do and really helped us to achieve the exact look and feel we were going for. We'll definitely use them again.
